10 Weird Bikes That Will Make You Go “WOW”, “LOL” or “Eh?”

July 31, 2015 Road Cyclist Blog

Mondrian bike

Variety is the spice of life

We live and breathe road cycling and stare a little too long at every bike we see along our travels. From the latest models and vintage cycles, to custom built monsters and mass produced bog standards that have done their owners proud for years, there isn’t a bike around that doesn’t catch our eye. Then there are those that have been designed specifically to grab your attention, such as the ones below. Which is your favourite?

The wooden bike, for when metal and plastic are just too mainstream.

Let’s face it, we’ve all been caught short at least once during our rides.

toilet bike

This looks like amazing fun. It also looks totally impossible, which makes it even more fun. We’ll take one!

bike of the future

Do you love bikes, yet want to do more walking? That problem has been solved in a totally discreet way.

pointless bike

Have you ever seen a painting by Piet Mondrian? If not, Google him and you’ll get where we’re coming from.

Wow. This definitely takes the prize for most flamboyant bike. Could a more fabulous ride ever exist?

fabulous pink and yellow bike

Apparently the answer is yes.

what dreams are made of

Ah yes, we’ll take the ridiculously oversized bicycle that can be ridden backwards as well as forwards. Marvellous.

massive bicycle

This is what happens when you keep telling the wife you can’t pick anything up on the way home because you came to work on your bike.

trolley shopping bike

Granted, this chap will never win the race, but he’ll also never lose sight of his mates.

ladder bike

Speaking of which…

Excellent product, works well and saved me from……. Had a big slide on the A46 after an oncoming car pulled out to overtake and I had to take evasive action. Ended up with a ‘tank slapper’ and got thrown off my 1100RS into a hedge. Multiple fractures and a chest injury. My wife got the emergency text and turned up before the ambulance, our house is only 5 minutes away. Apparently the car didn’t stop and no one saw anything according to the police. Lucky to be alive.
